Midwest Motor Factors 2Arnold Clark Automobiles Ltd, Europe’s leading independently owned dealership group, has acquired West Midlands based parts distributor Midwest Motor Factors.

Midwest Motor Factors started in 1980 by Ray and Maureen Bennett and Paul and Carol Yardley. The business started in Willenhall and following a period of growth added sites in Brownhills and West Bromwich. Today, the motor factor operates out of six branches across the West Midlands.

The company employs 80 staff and has more than 40 vans. Paul Yardley, managing director, will remain with the company and continue to drive the business forward.

Paul said: “I was more than flattered by Arnold Clark’s interest in the business and on seeing its plans for growth I am very confident of an exciting future for the company, staff and customers.

“Service remains key for independent garages and it’s clear that there is a real hunger from technicians for greater technical support and training. Arnold Clark, as an innovator in this area, is ideally positioned to provide this.

Craig McCracken, group factor manager, added: “Midwest Motor Factors is an extremely well run business and the team here have excellent working relationships with customers and suppliers.  As part of Arnold Clark, we will look to develop these further and invest in all areas of the business to ensure Midwest Motor Factors continues to dominate parts supply to garages in the West Midlands.

“The acquisition of Midwest Motor Factors fits perfectly into our expanding portfolio of automotive parts distributors.”

The Monmore Auto Parts branch in Wolverhampton and Diamond Distribution are also part of the acquisition.
