Eddie ‘the Eagle’ Edwards flies in for TerraClean event
Randstad Ltd has announced that British Winter Olympics hero Eddie ‘the Eagle’ Edwards will be the special guest presenter at its upcoming TerraClean conference and awards evening on 25 April.
Edwards shot to fame at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary when he became the first man to represent Great Britain in the ski jump discipline. He became the unlikely star in Canada because of his oversized glasses, unique technique and, ultimately, his uncompetitive results.
Edwards, whose career is the subject of a Hollywood biopic film that will be released in 2016 and starring Hugh Jackman, will address the guests at TerraClean’s event – held at the Holiday Inn Hotel, Seaton Burn, near Newcastle.
“TerraClean’s unique engine decarbonisation technology was born in Canada so it seemed fitting to have someone that is synonymous with both Canada and Great Britain to be our special guest,” Randstad’s Phillip Dowd explained.
“Eddie ‘the Eagle’ Edwards is a British sporting legend and I’m sure all of our TerraClean technicians and other people that have played their part in developing the brand and its UK service network will be captivated by the stories he has to tell about his memorable Winter Olympics appearance and his subsequent career.”
The UK TerraClean network consists of more than 350 locations that use the product’s unique technology to successfully improve the emissions, fuel economy and performance of a range of customer vehicles.
