It is a turbulent time with many industries feeling the effect of coronavirus, and as the automotive sector is no exception, garages are naturally looking for ways to work smarter, including reducing the time it takes complete a fluid exchange.

With this in mind, Phillip Dowd, Randstad sales director, is urging them to invest in the right equipment to help speed up the process.

“Many technicians are aware of how long it takes to flush and refill a vehicle’s cooling system and are actively looking for an alternative solution, particularly as demand remains high as a result of the backlog from the six-month MOT extension,” said Dowd. “There is new technology and products available that can save both time and money for technicians, helping them to meet demand while maintaining customer service levels.”

As coolant becomes contaminated it deteriorates and its additive package depletes. Scale and rust can form in the cooling system which dramatically decreases the system’s ability to draw heat away from the engine. Old coolant also loses its ability to prevent corrosion.

Conventional drain and fill coolant exchangers can leave more than half of the old coolant in the system, so the new coolant is less able to protect against corrosion.

The new CoolantClean III’s coolant flush service from Randstad Ltd. can significantly save time and money, increasing a workshop’s profits by reducing the time it takes to carry out a complete fluid exchange to approximately 15 minutes.

It’s also simple to use as all technicians have to do it connect to the vehicle’s upper radiator hose and the unit will then flush virtually all of the old coolant and replace it with the new coolant.

The sophisticated system now allows for both static and dynamic cooperation and cannot be under or over filled and its vacuum allows for rapid evacuation of the reservoir and depressurisation of the cooling system.

The machine, which is compact for ease of storage, including an on-board waste tank with 28-quart capacity, performs an efficient and profitable service as part of a preventative maintenance programme.
