IAAF Annual Conference & Awards Dinner raises more than 11K for BEN
The IAAF Annual Conference & Awards Dinner raised more than £11,000 for automotive industry charity BEN.
Nigel Rothband, BEN Chief Operating Officer, made a very entertaining appeal for donations and also highlighted the good work BEN does, the majority of which is for those that have worked in the automotive aftermarket.
And, the IAAF audience didn’t disappoint, showing its generosity with donations made in a variety of ways.
In addition to the traditional envelope donation, which this time saw one lucky envelope drawn out of the box to win an iPad Air, monies were also raised for BEN through a raffle with prizes ranging from a BEN bear to £500 & £250 worth of John Lewis vouchers, kindly donated by the Parts Alliance.
BEN also received cheques from OESAA for £1500 and IFA buying group for £3000.
The IAAF has also made an additional donation from proceeds of specific items in the silent auction, which was held at the event for the second year in succession.
Wendy Williamson, IAAF chief executive, said: “The IAAF is so proud of its membership for its continual and unwavering support for the automotive industry charity BEN and their generosity at the recent IAAF Annual Conference and Awards Dinner will go a long way in supporting the high quality care BEN continues to provide.”
