Launchgolo1Diagnostic specialist Launch has officially unveiled the new real time vehicle monitoring system Golo “Go Online Live Online” signaling the opportunities available to the independent aftermarket in order to compete in the emerging field of vehicle telematics.

Golo allows workshops to access real-time vehicle data, to perform real-time diagnostics checks remotely and to provide the vehicle owner with professional examination and maintenance guidance via their smartphone.

There are two Golo products entering the UK aftermarket, which provide either Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connectivity with both a Golo app via a smartphone and Launch diagnostic product such as the new X431 Pro 3.

For motorists, Golo technology allows them to locate and communicate with independent garages near to their location and will record essential vehicle recording data for safety, anti-theft and driving behaviour. As a result, Golo is also being hotly tipped to make an impact among vehicle fleet managers.

Dave Richards, Launch UK managing director, said: “The launch of Golo is another example of how the independent aftermarket can respond to the threat of vehicle telematics from vehicle manufacturers.

“It is very exciting for the independent garage and will be done in a very sustained manner. Not only is Golo going to be a valuable tool for retaining customers in the independent aftermarket, but it will also create a social community among garages and drivers, strengthening the reputation of the independent aftermarket.”
